Indamixx now shipping with Transmission 2.0

The Indamixx hand-held studio, from Samsung and Trinity Audio Group, is now shipping in the USA and world-wide. The pre-loaded software is Transmission 2.0, a custom Debian distribution built here at 64 Studio, using Ubuntu Hardy Heron LTS sources. Indamixx features the Ardour DAW, the Energy XT sequencer, Mixxx DJ application, IDJC broadcast tool, Hydrogen drum machine, and much more - all in a pocket-sized, touch screen device.

Samsung is supporting the launch with an fun online game at www.mydjfantasy.com featuring renowned DJ Cut Chemist. (Firefox 3 and Flash are required for this site, there's a lot of video). The game showcases Mixxx, which works really well with the touch screen on the device, because you can move the waveforms, knobs and sliders directly with your fingers. As one visitor to the recent LUG Radio Live demonstration of Indamixx said, Mixxx might just be the killer app that tablet PCs have been waiting for. But MIDI sequencing, drum machine programming and DAW mixer automation also benefit greatly from the touch screen, because there's no longer the need to carry a specialised hardware control surface for each function.

Ronald Stewart, the founder of Trinity Audio Group, has come a long way with Indamixx over the last three years of product development, and is now putting his ground-breaking device into the hands of artists. We wish him every success with the launch, and hope that the great reviews keep rolling in.
