Audio CD
Which player are you using to play the audio CD's
Some players tend to use the hardware play function of the CD/DVD drive, and if it is not connected internally (almost definitely not) you'll get no sound.
So let us know and then we can help further.
Audio CD
Well. I tried Amarok, Soundjuicer, and Rhythmbox. They all had problems
with the CD player and MP3 playback. No sound output except when I
connected Soundjuicer in Jack, but the sound was terribly loud.
Try the envy24control mixer
For Delta cards you should use envy24control on the Sound & Video menu, rather than the Gnome or ALSA mixers. That's why SoundJuicer is playing back so loud, I bet.
Totem is the only player with support for MP3 playback in 64 Studio, because it has a licenced Gstreamer plugin.
Cheers!
The Amarok player
That is correct the envy24control make it works now.
I succeded to make Rhythmbox playing when connected to Jack. But I didnt
make Amarok, the best player on Linux, giving sound on my card. What could it be.
Just not compatible -
Thanks.

Try upgrading libmad (etch repository). It worked for me, I think amarok and kaffeine need it
