There are several threads on similar topics, but they didn't seem to have quite the same issue, so I thought I'd start one for my particular problem.

When I first installed 64Studio the X server wouldn't start, saying it found no screens. I dl'd the drivers from NVidia, and they seemed to install alright, but I still get errors. Now it says:

/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/libglx.so unrecognized module type
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.so unrecognized module type

then went on to say

Failed to load libglx.so (unknown module type, 6)
Failed to load nvidia_drv.so (unknown module type, 6)
Fatal server error
No screens found

Any ideas?

I have an EVGA 8600GT 512MB video card
