new mac pro, what flavor to download?

just got a new mac pro and want to try 64studio. it's a
dual quad core intel mac. i see amd64 and i386 downloads
for live and non-live versions. the description says they
handle amd and intel 32 and 64 bit processors. am confused
as i see specific download for amd 64 but nothing like
that for intel. what would i use to start an installation?

64bit

The name "AMD 64" has some history. AMD was the first company to bring out the 64bit architecture for personal computers, and the IA64 is just a clone of the same model. We still call it AMD64 much in the same way some people call a vacuum cleaner a "Hoover"

Thus, go for the AMD64 non-live version...

thanks quentin. that's certainly counterintuitive. wasn't in the
readme. would be helpful if somebody put this stuff up someplace
for others in my boat, maybe directly on the downloads page? now,
if you'll excuse me, i need a kleenex and think i'll grab a beer
from the frigidaire while i'm up. ;)
